Love Is Not For Me

By the time they reached Ira's apartment, the evening had settled in quietly, a soft golden light slipping through the windows as if it had followed them all the way from campus. The door opened, and without hesitation, they all walked in like they had done it a hundred times before.

Bags dropped onto the couch, shoes were kicked off in different corners, and within seconds, the calm space filled with overlapping voices and movement that felt louder than the apartment itself. It didn't feel like visiting anymore. It felt like returning.
